Overnight Postpartum Doula
Welcoming a baby into your life is undeniably one of the most extraordinary experiences, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges. Regardless of your unique birth experience, adapting to sleepless nights and being constantly on call can be demanding. I provide short term overnights, but for extended needs, I have partnered with Natalie Howell along with Take Care Mommy and Atlanta Postpartum Doulas to assist you and your newborn's unique needs for overnight care. Pricing varies, starting at $45 per hour, based on driving distance and number of babies.
Duties:
Overnight shift time: Approximately10PM-6AM. Can be tweaked a bit depending on driving distance.

Overnight care for up to three newborns at a time

Guidance/instruction in newborn care

Establish and implement a nighttime sleeping and feeding routine

This can be bringing baby to mom for feedings, bottle feeding or a combination of both options

Log baby's eating/sleeping patterns with detailed notes

Wash, dry and fold baby laundry

Wash bottles and breast pump supplies

Make new formula or prepare bottles for the next day

Assist and support mothers with basic breastfeeding tips

Tidy up common living areas if it won't disturb sleeping individuals (load the dishwasher, wipe down counters, etc)

Provide referrals to other newborn professionals such as lactation consultants, pediatricians, etc.
Overnight shifts are especially helpful for those who don't have family or a partner available to assist at night. Frequent overnight wakings during those first few months can leave parents exhausted
Natalie Howell
Nightlight Nanny is owned by Natalie, a Certified Postpartum and Infant Doula, residing in Cumming Georgia with her husband and eight children. She began her career in 1999 as a labor and delivery nurse in North Georgia. After becoming a mother herself, she put her career on hold and took care of her family while taking night and day nanny jobs. She has many years of professional nanny and special care nanny experience. Mothers and newborns have always been her love. She is passionate about teaching new parents and helping families as they add a precious baby to their home.
